“[The show] opens with Hamlet and Ophelia, played by Jack Cobabe and Kalie Filanda… artfully embodying their complicated courtship.”

“This piece was brave and filled with heart. I left feeling lighter and blessed by the time spent out at the theater.

Who is love for?

AOTC is proud to announce The Sin of Self Love, scenes from Shakespeare and Lope de Vega conceived and directed by Shelby Noelle Gist.

On stage and on screen we see straight, white, young love time and time again. Why exactly do other types of love between other types of people, or even of oneself, have so much less representation? Why is embracing, displaying, or celebrating love in a body that doesn't match the status quo an act of defiance? These questions led creator and director Shelby Noelle Gist to assemble this collage of classic theatrical scenes presented in unexpected and exciting ways. The Sin of Self Love shows that love is anything but exclusive and everyone deserves to find it, both outside themselves and within.

Playing November 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30 with additional 9:00 performances on the 12th, 18th and 19th.
