Working with the Classical Greek Theatre Festival, in 2021 I was cast as King Theoclymenus. Theoclymenus was a prophet from Argos, ruling over an Egyptian Island.
In Euripides' version of Helen's tale, Theoclymenus was entrusted by the gods to watch over and protect Helen whilst the battle of Troy ensued. He becomes the villian as he decides he should go against Helen and the God's decidions, and take her for himsef.
This production toured various venues in the Salt Lake Area.
Classical Greek Theatre Festival Presents HELEN
by Euripides
While we're all familiar with the story of the fall of Troy, Euripides offers us an ancient twist on the tale in which the famous Helen, whose beauty launched a thousand ships, never, in fact, left for Troy. The meddling Gods instead whisked her away, while a false Helen incurred the wrath of two nations, her family, and husband, leaving the true Helen to pick up the pieces of her tattered reputation and marriage.
